ProDesign is devoted to understanding the face. This means – our focus is more on the synergy that arises between face and frame than on the frame design itself. Taking as our starting point facial knowledge, trends, innovation and a conceptual approach, we create eyewear that highlights the finest qualities of the face.
We were founded in 1973 and now combines the qualities of a young, dynamic design company with more than 40 years of experience in the business. Many of the key personnel at the company are qualified opticians, so we always base our work on in-depth knowledge of both the opticians’ profession and retail sector conditions. This has helped us create strong relations with our customers and build up a well-deserved reputation for ‘face-friendly’ eyewear, efficient logistics and reliable after-sales service.
It has always been a profound advantage that we, at ProDesign, have a deep understanding of an optician’s operating procedures. Our founder was optician, our quality manager who approves all new projects is an optician and our head of design is an optician.
The understanding of mentioned operating procedures is also reflected in the way we develop our products. Our designs are made to appeal to different target audiences. Our dedication to design frames appealing to various personalities has resulted in five different contemporary collections. These collections attract a very large proportion of the opticians’ customers worldwide. ProDesign frames display our personal taste and design understanding but our main focus is to meet the customers’ demands. With all five collections combined, we are proud to offer one of the broadest ranges of designer frames on the market.
We use the understanding of different facial shapes to design our frames. We use f.inst. photos as a mean in the creative design process – thus, we strive to be the best at “facial compliance”, making the design enhance the desired facial contours and enter into a harmonious whole.
But harmony is not everything, it is more about style and feeling good about oneself when you leave the shop. Consequently, the staff in the design department is composed of people with different angles, attitudes and perceptions ensuring that the innovative design process will flourish to support the continous development of attractive designs.
With previous positions as watch designers, trendspotters and teachers at the school of architecture, our design team has the perfect approach for understanding the optical world and transforming this into a fashion and design context.
